Stage One

Our Design Consultation stage involves discussing your project brief and exploring what may be possible within local building planning parameters. At our first meeting we can start to build a framework of your ideas using our briefing page and develop them together.

After working up an architectural brief together we will arrange a full digital property survey to gather all the information we need to take us on to the next step…

Depending on the scope of your project we can arrange an in-depth feasibility study to determine how we can make your vision a reality. If required, this can even include an initial costing breakdown to see likely budget constraints.

Our design team will use your brief to create concept models providing you with a 3D visual walk through of your project. When you visit us for a design meeting we will explore the spaces together and work through any refinements that are needed. This is where our clients start to see their vision become a reality.

We will contact the local planning department in almost all instances of a new building project. We will talk you through what is involved and the different application procedures, and prepare a package of drawings and documents particular to your project based on the designs we have developed together.

Stage Two

At this stage we need to take the planning drawings and overlay all the information required to make sure your project measures up to building regulations. This can seem complicated but we will take care of any details required to allow your vision to be buildable.

We work alongside several different Engineers to determine the best fit for your project and will ensure that you gain a reasonable fee quotation. With your approval we can then appoint them on your behalf and keep them on track to deliver the right design and details for your project.

Our design team works in parallel with the engineers to ensure that our original design is thoroughly coordinated, and to make sure it stands up and stays put!

The approval process for construction can seem intimidating. However, Method Studio aim to preempt any issues by tackling them as early on as possible. We will submit the finished construction drawings to Building Control for review and approval. By gaining approval for a full plan we can get construction packages signed off, avoiding any unexpected changes down the line.

We have developed relationships with private inspectors over years to ensure this process is as seamless as possible.

Stage Three

This involves preparing a detailed document that sets out the complete scope of the works of your unique project. We can provide you with a carefully considered document outlining the process, right from demolition through to the final finishes you want. This includes a room by room walk through, in person, for you to fully get to grips with how your project will come to life.

All of this means that the contractor will know exactly what you want to achieve, helping them give you a more accurate price. Time spent here getting it right will mean you can avoid unexpected costs further down the line. The more detail – the less hidden surprises!

Once you have all the details finalised and you know what you want built, you need to make sure you choose the right person to make it happen! We can work through the process with you, preparing a shortlist of suitable contractors who we believe are right for your project.

We provide them with all the information they require to give you as accurate a price as possible to get your project completed.

Once the contractor is chosen we can help you navigate what contract you may wish to put in place. We recommend Industry standard contracts that fit your scope, and walk you through all the details to make sure everything is clear and you feel in command.

Site Support

For that extra helping hand to make sure things go to plan on site, we can also get involved during your build. Our architects love to work along with builders to make sure that important details don’t get overlooked or lost in translation.

If you want that extra peace of mind knowing that the time we have spent designing is coming to fruition then feel free to call us to discuss what support we can provide you.
