Design solutions
When designing an extension, a crucial rule to bear in mind is the 45-degree angle rule. At times this planning regulation could be viewed as a design limitation. Instead we have embraced it and created a clever design solution. This planning rule stipulates that any extension to the rear, front, or side of a property must be set within a 45-degree line drawn from the nearest edge of the neighbouring windows. To comply with this regulation we have created a design with a 45-degree courtyard, as seen in these sketches.
